Time flies.
Yesterday’s gone.
‘Take flight’ - my
new mantra,
it’s that I care to
softly sing.
I could beat the dead
horse and beg for more
I could, you know,
but why prolong
What drags and brings
us pain ?
I must be gone.
Time flies.

How sad. Time flies indeed and sometimes life becomes too hard, too painful.
ReplyDeleteTime does fly ... your poem is splendid!!!
ReplyDeleteI believe I can fly...
ReplyDeleteI was honestly thinking how fast time flies today. This is a sad but beautifully written poem =)
ReplyDeleteWinning and engaging take on the prompt. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent view. Nice one.
ReplyDeleteI like that new mantra! Hurry and fly before time does!
ReplyDeleteTime flies... it does make one sad. But I also feel the resignation in this poem. Your words have a lot of emotion.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this thoughtful comment ... resignation yes, but the will to take control and 'move on' is what I am really trying to get at here ...
