I love playing around with my photos and will sometimes putter for hours looking for the right look to some of my shots ... Big Huge Labs is my free on-line space of choice. I have also discovered a place called FotoFlexer. I'm always amazed at how altering certain elements of the image or adding special effects can make for such a different piece of work.
... shared with other photographers at Saturday Snapshot ...
Thank you, Melinda! You're wonderful to host this weekly share!
Oh that reminds me all over again of those fun online sites. There are many features from which to choose, too. Your altered work looks great!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I haven't ventured into that realm yet. I am just glad when I get any kind of a photo that looks remotely like the subject matter. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove the bird picture - the tree is amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting experiment. That second picture looks like a painting. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Beautiful photos, both before and after tweaking. I'm wondering if I could alter some of my photos so that they could be used as templates for "picture" quilts. You've started my creative juices flowing.
ReplyDeletethese look like fun to do. thanks.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! One of my sons downloaded Picasa for me and it is addictive - in a non-toxic way - and hours of fun, turning those photographs into something I never would have imagined.
ReplyDeleteI love playing with photos, too. I use Picmonkey, but that site doesn't have everything I'd like to try. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteInteresting techniques, but I think I prefer the originals. I was hoping Leslie might have commented to tell us what the bird is- do you know what it is?
ReplyDeleteThe bird is a black-capped chickadee ... one of the more common birds in this area of New England.
DeleteMy husband also likes to play around with his photos. He uses PhotoShop and more recently has gotten into Light Room.
ReplyDeleteI used to be more of a photo buff, before I started working on a novel. With my second draft done, maybe I could start playing around with photos again for a break.
Yours are very nice. I like both versions!
