Ahhhh, What a Week - Saturday Snapshot

This has been a week for the heaviest and darkest clouds that I have ever seen. There have been torrential rains and thunderstorms that scared the dogs, gushing gutters, and muddy flowerbeds. The sump pump  has cycled on and off several times during the week to keep the water drained from the old dirt cellar of our grey cottage on the hill The lawn is as green and lush as it has ever been ... I guess Mother Nature is making up for our snowless winter. Things do tend to balance out over time ...

This post is linked to Alyce's weekly photo meme, Saturday Snapshot. Check out the other offerings at her blog, at home with books. There is always such a wonderful sampling of life in all those photos!

  3. Everything certainly looks very green. I hope you get more reasonable amounts of rain from now on.

  4. Fabulous picture - your weather sounds worse than our's. We've had thunder, torrential rain, hail, gale force winds, and it's jolly cold as well. The snails and weeds are the only things to flourish in the garden. Last week we had a heatwave!

  5. What an interesting cloud formation. With such heavy rains, it seems strange to see that clear portion in the middle of the clouds. We're still waiting for some rain here.....

    Here's my Snapshot

Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog. I'm glad you like my collections...I do collect dolls, books, figurines, movies...I guess I don't collect guns...lol

  8. All that green foliage and the sky behind it make a lovely and restful scene--with the promise of rain.

  9. That's how I imagine Ireland must look - all green and stony. :) I love a good thunderstorm.

  11. And the rain has its benefit.
It's wonderful to see green grass and foliage.
During winter in Northern California, where we live, when the rain comes, everything turns green also. In summer the green hills become gold.

  12. Rain day after day gets annoying but once it leaves, everything is beautifully green. We usually have plenty of rain in the Midwest and now nothing for the past few weeks. I'm actually hoping for a few good thunderstorms this week, my rain barrels are empty.

  13. The rains seem to have kept everything nice and green. One consolation!

  14. Your photo is mystical. What a beautiful natural environment you live in. Is that a lake or the ocean? Your week is just like ours. What you have said totally describes our weather, plus, we've had a serious thunder storm that was quite frightening even inside our house. Anyway, I'm glad it's sunny again today so I can finally do some gardening. -- Arti of Ripple Effects
